Terrence again...

Hey guys. Was trying to sleep, but Justin woke me up with one of his nightmares. Been years since Daniel died, and he still has dreams about it...

Uh, he might be mad at me for saying that...

Whatever...

I don't think I'll be getting back to sleep, so I might as well give an update.

We've been monitoring Oathbreaker activity. We're not sure what they're up to, but there's one particular spot in town they seem to meet up at a lot. We're gonna be watching that spot as subtly as we can for the time being. Maybe something'll happen.

Maria's out of town right now, but she'll be back in a couple days to help us with recon. I think we'll be fine on our own, but whatever. Maybe we'll get more done with her.

I can't think of anything else to say, so I'll just end this here. I should really tell Justin to log out of his account when he's not on...

Activity

Maria was right. There's something going on in this town. I don't know exactly what it is yet, but I've noticed some things.

First of all, I keep noticing small groups of people loitering around. Maybe that's not too weird, but it did strike me as something I should keep an eye out for, and sure enough, I caught sight of a symbol some of those people had on them. At first glance, it might have looked like the number 8, but anyone who knows better would recognize it as the Stick and Serpent.

The Stick and Serpent is the symbol used by the Oathbreakers. Kind of like how the Timberwolves use the Twin Triangles. Wondering what Oathbreakers are? Well, they're the servants of the Plague Doctor. Another of the Fears. The Plague Doctor embodies illness and spreads disease. Gross mother fucker. Best to steer clear of him. And his servants, the Oathbreakers, do what they can to spread sickness as well. A lot of them are actual doctors who intentionally break the Hippocratic Oath by infecting their patients.

And that's how I came to my second discovery. There are 3 hospitals in town, and after a few stake outs, we've learned that at least 2 of them are under Oathbreaker control. I let Maria know, and she said she'd get back to me.

I think there's more to this. Call it a hunch or whatever, but I don't think this is just normal Oathbreaker shenanigans. I think they're planning something. Something big. How do I know this? I don't. Like I said, it's a hunch. But these guys are being pretty suspicious, and I don't trust them. I'm gonna keep my eyes open. See if anything happens.

Fears

Right, sorry for the delay in updates. I am a lazy, lazy bastard. I promised I'd explain what the Fears are, and that's what I'ma do. (Did that annoy you, Poe? I really hope it did.)

So, to sum it up, the Fears are these super powerful eldritch beings who like to screw with and occasionally kill people until they die. For those of you who don't understand the word "eldritch", it basically means they're beyond human comprehension in some way or another.

These guys are so powerful that a lot of people serve them. Me included. Those proxies we keep fighting? They serve the Slender Man. Tall faceless dude. Maybe you've heard of him.

We Timberwolves are the servants of the Archangel. And by "servants", I mean "fanboys". I know that's kind of a silly thing to say, but it's the best way to describe it. Few of us have ever actually met or interacted with the big guy. Hell, I didn't even know he was a thing when I first joined. I thought we were just a gang, but after  few weeks I was filled in about all this.

So yeah, we're a weird cult worshipping an eldritch god. But not just any eldritch god. The Archangel is the afterlife itself. Anything that dies becomes a part of him.

Anyway, there's more Fears, but I'm not gonna bother with them right now. I'll explain more of them if they come up.

In other news, we've fully settled down in our new location. Terrence and I are renting an apartment together, which we haven't done in a while. Ciel's got her own place elsewhere. After scouting the area around for a while, we managed to find a decent place to set up our new hideout.

We also made a new friend. I got a text on my phone. It was an unfamiliar number saying it got mine from a friend and wanted to meet with us. Ciel found it suspicious and told me to bring my scythe. I was planning to anyway, but whatever. We met the mystery person last night.

She was pretty cute. Brunette girl, a few years older than me. She had on a jacket with the twin triangles emblazed on the sleeve.

"You a Timberwolf?" I asked.

"Either that, or I'm masqueraded as one to gain your trust," She chuckled. "But yeah, I'm a Timberwolf."

"If that's true, then what's the password?" I asked.

"We don't have a password," She said, giving me a quizzical look.

"Well, we should," I said. "It would come in handy."

"So who are you, anyway?" Ciel demanded.

"I'm Maria," She replied. "And you're Ciel, right?"

Instead of replying, Ciel just kind of glared at her.

"And you must be Terrence," Maria said, nodding to Terrence. "And the blonde one with the scythe is Justin."

"Sup," I said.

"Not much," She replied. "I'm glad we have more wolves in town, though. For a while, its just been me and a couple other guys."

"That so?" I asked.

"Yep," She said. "So, can you guys do me a favor?"

"What kind of favor?" Terrence asked.

"Recon," Maria replied. "There's been some suspicious activity in town. I suspect that rival servants might be involved."

"So you want us to keep an eye out?" Terrence asked.

"That's right," Maria said. "Let me know if you see anything... odd."

"So is that the only reason you called us out here?" Ciel asked.

"Mmmm, mostly," Maria replied. "I also wanted to meet the Reaper in person."

"Funny," I said. "I wasn't aware I had a reputation."

"A small one," Maria said. "But word does get around. Especially when you rob and kill a bunch of proxies and then burn their house down."

"Well, credit for the burning goes to Terrence," I said.

"Nice job," She said to him.

"And I didn't really rob them," I said. "That was mostly these guys."

"Cool," Maria said. "I'll see you all around."

"Sure thing," I said.

Maria turned and walked a few feet before pausing.

"Oh," she said. "One more thing..."

Without warning, she spun around, wielding a sword I didn't even know she had on her. IT was uniquely shaped. The blade extended from the hilt, remaining straight for a bit, before curving forward in a hooked, ax-like shaped, and ending in a clipped point. I didn't have a lot of time to react, but I managed to draw my scythe and put in between us as she dashed forward and slashed. Her blade collided with the pole of my scythe, and I tensed my body to resist the impact. Her attack was strong, and I had to struggle to halt it. She managed to push me back a few inches with that attack, much to my surprise. She smiled at me and took a step back.

"You're tough," She said. "Good. Sorry for the surprise test."

She then turned and walked away sliding her sword into a strap on her belt as she did. I looked at both Ciel and Terrence, who had drawn their knives.

"Aw, you were ready to back me up," I said to Ciel. "You do care."

"Suck a chode," She replied, putting her knife away.

"That was a little out of nowhere," Terrence said.

"Cool sword though," I said.

"I think it was a khopesh," Terrence said.

"Who gives a shit," Ciel growled. "Let's get out of here."

So yeah. Maria seems nice. I'll keep you guys updated on the whole "Suspicious activity" thing. Later.
